December HM Mini Goal – Volunteer

Happy December, everyone! It’s hard to believe, but we have come to the final month of our 2024 HM Mini Goal Program, and we are so proud of all the goals we have accomplished together throughout the year. Last month, we were tasked with completing a random act of kindness. We received touching examples of how you shared your kindness—from anonymously paying for a couple’s dinner at a restaurant, to buying coffee for a police officer in line at a coffee shop, and paying it forward by leaving a Starbucks gift card for the next person in line. We are positive that these random acts of kindness put smiles on the faces of others!

Shifting into December and the warmth of the holiday season, we wanted to include a goal to encourage giving back to our communities. This month, our mini goal is to volunteer, and we are eager to see the creative ways you lend a helping hand!

Chances are, you’re already giving back in some form to your local community—maybe you’re helping coach your child’s sports team, organizing alumni events or contributing time as a mentor in your local area. Some of our favorites include wrapping gifts for organizations that provide presents for the less fortunate, helping to make and serve meals at a local soup kitchen and collecting blankets, toys and food for local animal shelters. If you don’t have time for additional in-person volunteering, look for ways you can give online to local philanthropic efforts—whether offering items for a gift basket or charity auction, ordering gifts to ship to families in need or donating winter coats to a local clothing drive. Our team is honored to serve our communities through the years, it is one of our core values after all. Volunteering helps connect all of us with the spirit of the season, and offers a great way to practice gratitude and kindness, too.

After you’ve volunteered, we encourage you to take a photo and share it with our team by sending it to minigoals@hughesmarino.com. We’ll be sure to share your photos on social media. We can’t wait to see what you to around your communities.
