We are ecstatic to announce the launch of a service line that will add tremendous value to both our clients, and our company! In response to the overwhelming demand for interior design and planning expertise, and a natural extension to our tenant representation and project management services, we developed our Planning + Design service and we couldn’t be happier with the team we have to lead this exciting journey! We are known for having inspiring workspaces of our own, and are now excited to be able to share that same passion and expertise with our clients that we’ve been fortunate enough to experience firsthand for many years with our own team and our beautiful surroundings.

Nicholas and Kristin had fun meeting the Orange County team during a recent team meeting!

From a planning aspect, our team provides expertise with single source programming, planning and test fit planning to ensure clients can fit in a prospective space, and that the space functions and flows in the best way for teams to conduct business. Beginning with an introductory meeting to review prospective space(s), our team will utilize our needs assessment guidelines to pinpoint the functional needs of a space, discuss company culture and office design objectives to create test fit floorplans to help clients conceptualize the interaction and purpose of the space. From there, our experienced team will shape the perfect functioning workspace for clients’ teams in order to enhance use of space, communication, productivity and ultimately, company culture.

Our design services include every facet of interior design, with a main focus of enhancing company culture through office design. With firsthand experience of how office space can positively affect company culture and team dynamics, we are happy to share this unique insight with our clients through a variety of services. Furniture selection alone can be overwhelming for any business. After an initial consulting meeting, our team will advise on sourcing the most ideal architecture and design partners and furniture solutions for any scenario to help you achieve exactly the right feel for your business. From architectural finish and material selection, furniture, fixture and equipment specifications, art selection and installation, refresh and revitalization design for a current space, concept design, and coordinating services to fully detail and accessorize a space to enhance company culture and revitalize teams, we look forward to helping our clients to build their dream space while cultivating an award-winning company culture to attract and retain top talent!

Lead by Interior Planning Director, Nicholas Willis, and Interior Design Director, Kristin Christensen, our Planning + Design service is one more way Hughes Marino can help clients achieve their ultimate goals for their workspace.

Nicholas Willis
Interior Planning Director

A veteran to the industry of architecture, Nicholas brings extensive experience in space planning, designing and managing the execution of millions of square feet of commercial office and other types of tenant developments. Nicholas’ portfolio includes tenant improvement projects in some of the most prominent buildings on the West Coast, from Century Towers and the US Bank building in Los Angeles, to the Transamerica Pyramid and Embarcadero Center in San Francisco, to Symphony Tower, One America Plaza and Diamond View Tower in San Diego. His extensive client list includes technology, legal, professional service and life science firms throughout the state.

Kristin Christensen
Interior Design Director

Kristin brings a wealth of interior design experience to our team. Prior to joining Hughes Marino, Kristin spent seven years as a designer and office furniture specialist, completing projects in a wide variety of industries, including corporate office, hospitality, education and government. It was there she had the opportunity to work closely with the Hughes Marino team, where she assisted in the design of all the furniture for several Hughes Marino offices. From this experience, Kristin gained unique insight into the highly detail-oriented and nationally recognized Hughes Marino mindset of office design and company culture, and she is eager to help other companies achieve the same outstanding results.

As with all of our service lines, we aim to deliver excellence in every aspect for our clients. With our highest priorities focused on providing outstanding service to our clients, our award-winning company culture, the happiness of our teams and the beautiful environment of our offices, it was a seamless and natural decision to add Planning + Design to our extensive list of services to help our own clients achieve the same success in cultivating a positive workspace for teams to grow and thrive.

Be on the lookout for more inspiring design and planning insights and other exciting developments on our team, and we look forward to helping clients achieve success in every way!
