Positive Affirmations: A Simple and Powerful Tool to Foster a Positive Mindset

One of the cornerstones of our culture is nurturing our team at our quarterly all-team meetings, where we talk about positive thinking, personal growth and the pursuit of being our best selves—both as a team and as individuals. There are many practices that have come out of these meetings, from our core values to our WOW cards, and we’re introducing a new one to the mix: positive affirmations.

Our founder, Jason Hughes, came across these affirmations and loved them so much that we thought we’d make our own version for our team and wanted to share them with our community, as they can apply to anyone’s life and in less than a minute a day, and can have a huge, positive impact on our mindset. The idea is to save these to your desktop or phone and glance through them as you start or end your day—or both.

Just the simple act of a quick scroll through these positive affirmations can be a powerful force in shaping our thinking, reminding us of what’s important in life and serving as a daily reminder that we are strong, capable and deserving of success. And an added bonus, it almost immediately reduces stress and anxiety.

The science behind positive affirmations, especially “I am” affirmations like these, is powerful. Simply reading or saying these concepts out loud to ourselves daily has proven to increase self-esteem and confidence, reduce negative thoughts and build resilience, not to mention improve sleep and overall health, among many other known benefits.
