It is only fitting that TapHunter, one of San Diego’s most notable tech companies, has one of the coolest offices in the mecca for live-work-play, Downtown San Diego. TapHunter’s office is a modern, lofty, bright and creative collaboration hub for the company’s growing team of craft beer and coding enthusiasts. In the words of their leaders, “Our team is part hardworking beer connoisseurs, part innovative technologists and hard-core hunters that support local businesses and don’t settle for supporting common denominators and crappy ingredients.” Does it get much better than that?
Wait until you see their space. What you’d never guess (unless you happened to catch a glimpse of the gorgeous view) is that this “techy” loft space is in fact located in one of the most desirable high-rises in the county, Symphony Towers. It’s the perfect blend of classy and professional with youthful, fresh, and fun. They have the amazing high-rise amenities of the University Club, a high-end gym, 24/7 security, and in-house property management – but they also have a Kegerator, tequila-themed conference room, open ceilings, and polished concrete floors.
TapHunter chose to paint their open ceilings a bright white to energize and create height in the space. Modern, silver pendant lights hang overhead, brightening the space further while adding dimension to the open ceilings.
TapHunter’s reception area is decorated like your favorite, trendy, hole-in-the wall restaurant. Think Restoration Hardware meets Silicon Valley. A leather sofa, funky chairs, and fun wall art make this entry a comfortable and inviting place for guests (and team members) to enjoy.
The glass storefront conference room is a great way of creating private space without closing in the space. The drop ceilings and carpet in the conference room make for great sound barriers, allowing for private conversations and meetings even in a glass-enclosed fish bowl.
I love TapHunter’s use of reclaimed wood and potted plants to create texture in the space – it’s a great way to bring the outdoors in, and it complements the industrial open ceilings and glass storefronts perfectly.
It’s hard to get much cooler than TapHunter’s kitchen. Reclaimed wood, flat screen TVs, polished concrete floors, and farm tables for the team to enjoy a meal together (they host regular breakfast club-style breakfast and strategy sessions) make the kitchen an amazing place for team bonding – and for entertaining.
We LOVE TapHunter’s high-rise, high-style office in Downtown San Diego. Cheers to such an innovative company – and an equally innovative office space!
