BioLegend Phase 1 lab space

Description

Phase 1 of BioLegend’s campus project includes transforming the existing 40,000 SF two-story office building into research labs and creative office space. As part of the larger project, the team replaced the existing glazing with new high-performance glazing and exchanged the existing landscaping with more water-efficient foliage. Hughes Marino ensured the design allowed for long-term flexibility and efficiency in the lab space. Additional project phases are envisioned over the next few years, with the entire campus slated to be completely finished soon.

Added Value

Before Phase 1’s design stage started, Hughes Marino managed the entire purchasing process of the four-building campus. Once BioLegend officially owned the campus, Hughes Marino orchestrated the entire design, permitting, bidding and construction of improvements for Phase 1 to ultimately complete on time and under budget.

Service Provided

Hughes Marino provided program, project and construction management services which included weekly site visits, constructability reviews, documentation control and budget review. Hughes Marino is also helping BioLegend receive their Savings By Design credits and LEED Certification.
