Description
The project consisted of the design and construction of an expansion and remodel project for the Francis Parker Lower School. Work included final plan review with teachers and administrative staff, demolition of an existing residential home and 10 existing class rooms, construction of the new Library and Media Center, 2 Science class rooms, the Computer lab, a new two story wing with 10 new classrooms, remodel of the existing administrative offices and a new parking lot and play area. Due to the phasing requirements of the project, we were also required to set up 10 portable classrooms on the existing playground/parking area for approximately 1 year. The project was completed on time, allowing students to occupy the new facilities at the beginning of the school year.
Added Value
Hughes Marino played a key part in resolving several budget and schedule issues associated with the specific site conditions and retaining wall items, saving the school thousands of dollars. In addition, we were able to save the school over $20,000 by negotiating a settlement with the City related to water/sewer fees.
Service Provided
Hughes Marino provided construction management services from final plan review and establishment of the GMAX thru construction and occupancy of the new facility.
