Hughes Marino Building Achieves LEED Status

Hughes Marino Inc. was awarded LEED status for its new building at 1450 Front St. This status was based upon the building’s proximity to a variety of public transportation hubs, as well as other basic community services such as banks, dry cleaners, parks, restaurants and schools. Additional points were awarded for renovating an existing building with a “cool roof” and installing Energy Star rated equipment and appliances in the building.

The Hughes Marino building in downtown San Diego, formerly an industrial building dating back to the 1950s, underwent extensive remodeling requiring an investment of more than $5 million. The building was recently awarded LEED status for its proximity to public transportation hubs and services.
