It’s hard to imagine that less than a year ago this 92,000 square foot space was a maze of small offices and dark workrooms, but in no time, this space was beautifully transformed into a vibrant creative office. In order to make this happen, all walls, ceilings and utilities were demolished. Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects (RNT) designed this modern space with the goal of increasing employee satisfaction and retention of this utility client’s 700 member work force.
Work spaces consist of private offices as well as project, conference and focus rooms with cubicle areas broken down into smaller zones to manage scale. The space was designed with flexibility in mind, making use of demountable partitions and ceilings that can be rearranged as the space utilization changes.
A fitness center, a full-service dining room, a large auditorium, break rooms and some informal meeting spaces are also provided to enhance the work experience. Take a look!
The fitness center boasts bright, vibrant colors–great for fueling the mind before your workout! The area is the perfect size for multiple people to workout at once and consists of top-of-the-line equipment. Following an intense workout, team members can stop by the welcoming dining room for a protein-filled snack.
The dining room is cafeteria style and incorporates warm and cool tones, multiple flat screen TVs, and plenty of seating options. The walls are lined with windows, allowing for the natural light to freely flow in–making this dining room an enjoyable place to eat and socialize.
The conference rooms have giant overhead lighting to brighten the space, as well as a floor-to-ceiling glass wall, which opens up the room and creates an inviting area to meet. The large conference table is perfect for team members to collaborate and interact with one another.
Daylight is maximized through open stairways and Solatubes that reduce glare and inconsistent light patterns. The work spaces throughout the office are arranged to provide all staff with direct daylight–a necessity for a happy and productive workspace!
The above open area is filled with natural light and further embellished with a modern sofa and simple table with clean, straight lines. The primary colors of the red carpet tiles and blue sofa compliment each other and don’t overwhelm the space.
Kudos to RNT Architects for transforming a once large, yet basic space into a vibrant and collaborative space for employees to nurture both their personal and professional lives!
