Spaces We Love: The Honest Company’s Santa Monica HQ

By Star Hughes

Jessica Alba is definitely one of my role models. A mother, a wife and a mogul, her business savvy has made her business, The Honest Company, an astounding success. To boot, she’s got incredible style, which extends to her company’s headquarters. One look inside The Honest Company’s office space in Santa Monica is proof that when it comes to good taste, Alba’s in a league of her own.

The first thing that I fell in love with about The Honest Company headquarters is that it has elements of a home throughout. Comfy couches, brightly colored walls, area rugs, end tables, and a wall of baby photos make The Honest Company feel more like a home than an office space. These adorable sitting areas pepper the entire space.

True to her company brand, Alba included eco-friendly materials throughout the space as well. The polished concrete floors, for example, are balanced by natural woods, including those seen in the kitchen and dining room. Natural woods are also used as room dividers, walls in nurseries, and even for a beautiful conference room table.

Speaking of brand, Alba’s logo is apparent throughout the space, but her office takes brand visibility one step further. Clearly displayed in a simple, yet powerful message, The Honest Company’s wall of framed diapers speaks to the roots of Alba’s billion-dollar business.

With bright colors throughout the open office plan, which includes high ceilings and exposed ducting, The Honest Company’s headquarters do a terrific job of blending fun and functionality with natural elements. The roll-up garage doors reinforce the eco-friendly brand by bringing a bit of the outdoors inside.

If you’re looking for inspiration for your own office space, The Honest Company’s headquarters will certainly help spark your creativity. By incorporating the company’s own products into its office design and décor, and maximizing the use of eco-friendly elements, their office conveys precisely the ideals that the company embraces, and embodies the essence of the eco-conscious global brand it has become. The final result is honestly, spectacular.

Recently Hughes Marino client Bumble Bee Foods opened its doors at the Showley Brothers Candy Factory in the East Village at Petco Park. This historical building, which sat empty for more than a decade prior to Bumbe Bee’s move, is now brimming with brand awareness. Much like The Honest Company showcases its children’s products throughout its space, Bumble Bee’s new headquarters utilizes tuna cans and old fishing materials as décor to speak to the company’s brand. And, like The Honest Company, Bumble Bee’s new location also features roll-up garage doors, which open to a seating area overlooking Petco Park.
