Hughes Marino, San Diego’s premier commercial real estate firm, is proud to be named one of the 2012 Best Places to Work in San Diego. The annual list of the Best Places to Work in San Diego was determined by the San Diego Business Journal, Best Companies Group, and was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in San Diego, benefiting the county’s economy, workforce and businesses.

Jason Hughes, president of Hughes Marino, attributes the Best Places to Work award in large part to the new headquarters the company built in 2011. Located in downtown at the corners of Front and Beech Streets, the new headquarters is more like a home than an office for the firm’s 27 team members. From hosting a monthly massage day in the company’s private gym, to weekly grocery deliveries for the entire staff, and healthy family style meals prepared on a regular basis, the Hughes Marino team undoubtedly has one of the nicest working environments in San Diego. Hughes says they strive to make the office feel like a home, not only for the team, but for their extended family members (spouses and children are frequent guests), and the over 70 charitable organizations the team is personally involved in San Diego’s community.

Companies from across the county entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in San Diego. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
