A Fond Farewell…And a Warm Welcome

We will miss Ryan McCrary, Vice President (left), but are thrilled to have Rob Bello, General Counsel (right), join the Hughes Marino Team.

This month, the team at Hughes Marino will bid a fond farewell to a dearly respected and admired team member. Ryan McCrary, Esq. has served as our general counsel since 2009. With his combined background in law and commercial real estate, Ryan has been an invaluable resource in helping our clients understand their legal obligations with respect to their lease and purchase transactions, as well as keeping the company’s legal affairs in order as general counsel.

Ryan’s departure as in-house counsel is truly bittersweet. The HM team is certainly sad to see him go, but we celebrate the fact that he will be a new father – again, and to twin boys no less! – and will be able to spend more time at home with his family. We wish Ryan nothing but joy, to include many, many happy hours spent with his wife, Dana, and their five beautiful children.

Concurrent with our fond farewell to Ryan, Hughes Marino is excited to extend a warm welcome to Rob Bello, our new general counsel. We have worked with Rob in a peripheral capacity for several years, as he’s been an attendee at many of Hughes Marino’s company and community events.

Rob will be utilizing his extensive legal background in all aspects of business law, including real estate and contractual issues, to continue Ryan’s work protecting our clients’ and our company’s interests. After attending Northwestern as an undergrad, Rob received his MBA from San Diego State University and JD from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He has worked as a litigator for the past several years in San Diego. During that time, Rob notably helped secure a precedent-setting opinion in California wrongful termination cases from the California Court of Appeal located in Orange County.

Not only is Rob a legal whiz, he’s also an incredible athlete. After playing varsity baseball at Northwestern, he moved to Italy upon graduation, where he played professionally for two seasons. While in Italy, Rob met his future bride, Erin, who just happens to be the sister of our own J.P. Roach. So, although Rob “officially” joined the Hughes Marino family in a professional capacity earlier this month, he’s been part of our family for years.

At Hughes Marino, embracing the family spirit is one of our core values, and we are grateful to have benefitted from Ryan’s expertise for the past several years, and wish him and his growing family all the best in his new endeavor. Likewise, we are thrilled to formally welcome Rob Bello to our family and look forward to his expert contributions to the HM team.
