Amazon, Google, Apple, Microsoft, IBM. These are just a few companies at the forefront of our modern, Industrial “Tech” Revolution. We’re all looking for the next best thing to simplify our lives, and at our fingertips there are books, podcasts and apps, all designed to give us more of our most critical resource–TIME! These time savings can be shared with family, at the beach, traveling, or for those who know me…on the golf course!

Accounting is one industry in particular that has been stagnant and slow to adopt crucial technological systems to accelerate the efficiencies of keeping up with the modern-day world, effectuating more…you guessed it, time. Whether a Fortune 500 company or a small family-owned accountancy firm, closing the books is one of the most time consuming and labor-intensive processes that a business in the industry faces. And that’s where FloQast comes in.

Los Angeles based FloQast, Inc., led by CEO and Co-Founder Mike Whitmire, has created a platform that is revolutionizing the way companies are able to streamline the system of closing the books. The software works with existing spreadsheets and checklists, combining together a single place to manage the month-end close, while also giving companies visibility and accuracy to their work. Rapid adoption around the world effectuated a 250% growth in FloQast’s team in 2017, while in the same year producing triple digit revenue growth and receiving a $25 million Series B round. Their company needed a new space to call home, and they set out to build one of the coolest office spaces in Los Angeles.

One of their highest priorities in relocating to a new headquarters was to provide a space that encouraged teamwork, fun and innovation. Internal Art Director James Richman took the lead on the design and architecture of the space and left no detail unturned. FloQast completely transformed what was once a dark, industrial warehouse in Sherman Oaks into an open, natural light-filled and creative office environment designed specifically for collaboration and efficiency.

The office experience begins with a stunningly green visual first impression. Immediately after walking into the glass door entrance, guest’s eyes are drawn to FloQast’s logo on full display in the middle of a vast living wall.

Their company also emulates the perfect balance of work and play. Employees have complete access to private offices to work quietly and conferences rooms to gather in, along with a few more fun alternatives. If they are looking for a creative collaborative environment, they can work together on the oversized beanbags, chat while playing a game of ping-pong or relax on the private outdoor patio.

Another way they mix work and play? Their team meeting space. Who wouldn’t want to have all team meetings in stadium seating overlooking their game area? The space is highlighted by polished concrete flooring, decorative wall art and pinewood separators—all framed under the 20-foot exposed ceiling with skylights and a glass roll-up window to provide an outdoor feel.

Congratulations to FloQast for their innovative platform, continued company growth and success, and one awesome office space!
