Hughes Marino, a firm that represents companies in building leases and purchases, has moved the nine employees in its Irvine office into a larger redesigned space at Jamboree Center. The new office was designed to feel like an upscale home. A photo wall is lined with pictures of workers’ families. There’s a living room with a pool table. The kitchen includes a farm table, and employees are encouraged to work together at a breakfast bar. “This focus on family brings a warmth and renewed energy to the office,” said Shay Hughes, the company’s chief operating officer. Gensler served as architect of the new office, with Howard Building Corp. providing general contractor services.
ClearLight Partners LLC, a private equity firm in Newport Beach, has sold TASI Group, a Cincinnati company that does product testing, inspection and measurement, to Berwind Group in Philadelphia. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ener-Core Inc., an Irvine company that makes machines that convert low-quality gas into electricity, has entered the European market with the opening of a power station there. Ener-core partnered with Attero, a Dutch waste-management firm that operates 10 gas-generating landfills, to open the station in the Netherlands.
