Spaces We Love: Smashtech’s San Diego HQ

By Star Hughes-Gorup

Smashtech, a marketing and consumer products company with a largely millennial workforce, has the ultimate creative office. With exposed open ceilings, hardwood floors, and amazing natural light, it’s no wonder that Smashtech is ranked the #1 rated place to work in San Diego on Glassdoor and was dubbed one of the Best Places to Work by the San Diego Business Journal! In their own words, “We are a technology-focused company that builds brands to make living a healthy lifestyle, simple.” I love it. And I love their office.

The bones of the space are very cool. The high ceilings painted white make the space feel a historic warehouse – not a high-rise! But what really makes the space amazing are all of the details that add depth, character, branding, and team identity to the space. The market lights hung from the ceiling are fun and eclectic. They also make the space feel warm, comfortable, and homey.

The three 25-foot graffiti-painted murals by Marc Sandoval add amazing pops of color to the space – they are some of the coolest pieces of art I’ve seen. The video game lounge, corn hole, and residential-style kitchen are just some of the details that make employees WANT to go to work each day. It doesn’t hurt that the space has floor to ceiling glass windows with vibrant views of downtown and the ocean. The company even provides Smashtech bikes for the team to cruise around with and explore our beautiful downtown!

Congratulations to Smashtech on building such an amazing office – and being named one of the best places to work in San Diego!
