Star Hughes Named One of San Diego’s 40 Under 40 By SD Metro Magazine

Star Hughes was recognized as an outstanding San Diegan in SD Metro’s annual “40 Under 40″ feature.

The Hughes Marino team was excited to learn recently that Director Star Hughes has been named to SD Metro Magazine’s exclusive “40 Under 40” list for 2014. The announcement is the latest in a series of recent accomplishments for Star, who has been WOWing all of us at Hughes Marino with her smarts, grace, and remarkable work ethic for years now.

2014 has been a spectacular year for Star, who has seen her public profile rise considerably in recent months. She notably spoke at the Lawyers Club of San Diego’s annual dinner last spring as a member of the organization’s Professional Advancement Committee. Representing Hughes Marino as Title Sponsor of the event, she welcomed hundreds of professionals with a stirring speech, which gave a nod to keynote speaker, The Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor.

Earlier in the year, Star was invited to serve on the Community Advisory Board of San Diego Private Bank, a role she enjoys immensely as it allows her to forge new and meaningful connections within San Diego’s business community. In June, she was interviewed for a feature about San Diego’s startup scene by national real estate news site GlobeSt.com, and in July, she learned that she’d been named a finalist for San Diego Magazine’s 2014 Woman of the Year Award.

These recognitions all stem from Star’s work as a leading commercial real estate broker in downtown San Diego. As a key member of Hughes Marino’s downtown brokerage team, Star has been involved in the procurement of more than 1 million square feet of space in San Diego since the start of her career. She’s also launched the popular “Spaces We Love” series on our blog, where she highlights unique office spaces throughout the country and provides tips for how to achieve the same look in San Diego.

A proud member of the millennial generation, Star has also written extensively about her generation’s impact in the workplace, and her life as a young, professional woman in a competitive, male-dominated industry on her lifestyle/professional blog at www.StarHughes.com.

We sincerely congratulate Star on this huge accomplishment, and look forward to seeing what’s in store for her next. We know this is just the beginning of what’s sure to be an absolutely stellar career.
