Hughes Marino Salutes Steven Gorup and the 7th Annual San Diego Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Hughes Marino salutes Steven Gorup, a project engineer and member of the Hughes Marino CM team, for his commitment to the cause of autism as chair of this year’s 7th annual San Diego Walk Now for Autism Speaks, an event that takes place September 10, 2011. Three years ago Steven decided to get involved with Autism Speaks thanks in large part to his sister, Eileen, who received her Master’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and Asperger’s and has taught children with moderate to severe Autism for the past five years.

Having served on the committee for the past two years, this year Steven is acting as the walk chair and is hoping to improve on last year’s numbers. The 2010 walk hosted 3,000 people and raised $107,000. Hughes Marino CM is a silver level sponsor for the event, which takes place at Liberty Station of Point Loma Ingram Plaza at 2640 Historic Decatur Road. Please join Steven, Hughes Marino, and fellow San Diegans by joining in the walk and/or making a donation at http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/sandiego/.

Autism Speaks is the nation’s largest autism advocacy organization, dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, funding research into the causes, prevention and treatments for autism, and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Walk Now for Autism Speaks is North America’s largest grassroots autism walk. For more information, please visit www.autismspeaks.org.
