Description

Mama’s Kitchen was in desperate need of a permanent home. Hughes Marino was able to help them find a suitable building and then helped them design, permit and construct their new facility. The project lasted 7 months with a total cost of approximately $1.5 million for design, permits and construction. Key components of the project included a 3,000 square foot kitchen, a walk-in freezer and refrigerator, large pantry and storage area and the cosmetic upgrades to the exterior of the building including painting, new windows, and a new shipping and receiving area.

Added Value

Hughes Marino was able to help Mama’s Kitchen design, permit and construct a very functional yet economical facility. The existing structure had termites, dry-rot, water intrusion issues and structural issues. We were able to work with the designer and general contractor to address each issue and come up with the most cost effective solution. In addition, Hughes Marino was able to work with the team to make recommendations on finish materials that were durable and would withstand the heavy use, but would also be economical and within our budget.

Service Provided

Hughes Marino provided construction management services including management of the entire vendor selection process; design, permitting and construction process; establishment and monitoring the project schedule; site inspections; establishment and monitoring of the project budget (allowances, contingency, contractor exposure holds); change order review and negotiations as well as monitoring of RFIs, submittals and general contractor buy-outs.
