Inside Hughes Marino’s Luxe New OC Office

After months of excitement, meticulous design choices, and a fantastic new build out, we are thrilled to present Hughes Marino’s brand new 4,500 square foot office at 2 Park Plaza in Irvine’s beautiful Jamboree Center. Hughes Marino’s new Orange County office boasts incredible views from every corner of the space, and in keeping with our core value of embracing the family spirit, it feels more like a home than an office. (Case in point: See our family photo wall featuring framed photos of HM team members with their families, or curl up on our couch to view more than 1,000 photos of HM’s growing family streaming on one of our flat screen TVs.).

Much like our award-winning headquarters in San Diego, we wanted to take advantage of the great opportunity that comes with moving offices, so we set out to create an inspiring atmosphere that fosters work-life balance by encouraging team members to collaborate over espresso at our breakfast bar, share a meal together at our family-style farm table, unwind over a game of pool, or sink into an oversized, comfy couch and strum a tune on a Taylor guitar. With stunning views of the San Bernardino mountain tops from glass-walled private offices, combined with a feminine open office area dressed in white on white swirls and polka dots, our new workplace is a unique combination of traditional and contemporary. The private office layout mixed with lots of open space, provides a great balance of privacy and collaborative space that we’ve found works perfectly for our close-knit team.

Filled with custom made decorative lighting fixtures, this home away from home features a three-tier, pear-shaped chandelier over the billiards table and delicate hand-blown glass LED balls over our custom designed marble conference table. With rich, dark walnut cabinetry and iceberg marble counter surfaces throughout, the kitchen and communal spaces are a perfect marriage of elegance and comfort, professionalism and playfulness.

Without a doubt though, the most talked about accessories in the office – aside from the light blue velvet couch that stuns when you enter the reception area – are the show stopping pieces of art that add whimsy and color to the space, and tickle the fancy of our guests at every turn. Our bright white walls were just begging for pops of bold color, so we filled them with some of the most creative and innovative artists from around the globe, including Damian Hirst, Gary Polonsky, Rusty Wolf, Cecile Plaisance (the human-size Barbie doll is a favorite), Robert Mars, and a specially commissioned piece by artist Anja Zan Herle that features nearly 5,000 Swarovski crystals, each one individually hand-placed in the shimmering background. The final result is a completely unique office space unlike anything you would commonly find in a Class A high rise, but soon to be enjoyed by many.
