Description

The project was an affordable housing project consisting of 229 rental residential units with 23 stories above grade, 3 levels of parking below grade and ground-floor retail. The structure is cast-in-place concrete type I construction.

Added Value

Hughes Marino’s program, project & construction management team was selected to assist the developer’s own internal staff with managing the difficult construction process. The developer had not completed a project of this type or magnitude and was looking for expert assistance. Hughes Marino was instrumental in setting the project expectations for both the general contractor and design team and keeping the project on track.

Service Provided

Hughes Marino provided program, project & construction management services including schedule monitoring, site inspections, establishment and monitoring of the project budget (allowances, contingency, contractor exposure holds), change order review and negotiations as well as monitoring of RFIs, submittals and general contractor buyouts.
