Derek Pedersen is a senior vice president at Hughes Marino, a global corporate real estate advisory firm, where he specializes in representing companies in the pursuit of corporate facilities and commercial real estate planning. Based out of the firm’s Seattle office, Derek has advised companies throughout the Seattle metropolitan area and across the nation. Both his local and national market insights help provide companies with a unique edge to approach their pursuits, allowing them to leverage knowledge of their current standing in the market.

His expertise includes many types of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, relocations, renewals, restructures, expansions, leasing, subleasing and build-to-suits. By providing in-depth market research, financial forecasting and workplace strategy, Derek is able to provide his clients with innovative, creative and flexible solutions.

Prior to joining Hughes Marino, Derek spent multiple years at the tenant representation firm Savills Studley, where he began his career in commercial real estate. Along with his expertise, Derek’s approachable personality paired with excellent communication skills allow his clients to have a seamless transaction experience.

Derek is currently involved in many civic organizations. He is on the membership committee of the NAIOP, as well as an active volunteer for Young Life, Fare Start and the Washington Technology Industry Association. Derek resides in Seattle and in his spare time, he enjoys ultra marathon running, reading 40+ books every year and all things Husky football!
