This week San Diego Magazine hosted “Celebrating Women,” an event honoring professional and dynamic women committed to positive change in the community. Some of San Diego’s most inspirational and accomplished women joined a panel discussion in front of a packed house at the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla, before awards were presented to the evening’s winners.

“Celebrating Women” was also a very special event for our team – and one team member in particular! As a Woman of the Year nominee, our very own Star Hughes-Gorup attended the event with her husband, Steven Gorup. In addition to her Woman of the Year nomination, Star was surprised when emcee Joyce Glazer presented her with the Young Leader Award, recognizing Star as one of San Diego’s brightest millennial leaders.

Here at Hughes Marino we have always known that Star is a standout young leader, and we are so grateful that San Diego Magazine recognized her amazing efforts in our community. Her work ethic, along with her dedication to her clients, Hughes Marino, her family and the San Diego community is truly an inspiration to all of us. Congratulations Star, and thank you for continuously making our team proud!!
