Fortune Magazine Ranks Hughes Marino the #4 Best Workplace in Southern California

Fortune Magazine unveiled their list of the top 50 Best Small and Medium Companies in Southern California, and we are delighted to announce that Hughes Marino ranked #4 in the region! As a company with humble beginnings in Southern California, where we have expanded exponentially over the years, we are ecstatic to be placed amongst so many amazing companies in one of the country’s most sought-after regions.

Fortune Magazine partnered with Great Place to Work to survey our team members and obtain metrics ranging from management transparency, professional development opportunities and more. Fortune’s ranking takes on even more significance to our company, as Hughes Marino was founded in 2011, as a small team of 15 based in San Diego. Over the years, we have grown to a team of over 100 and have expanded our reach to Orange County, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and most recently, to Seattle, Washington. We are excited to grow into new markets, all while maintaining our culture of excellence that originated in Southern California.

We attribute this amazing new accolade to owners Jason and Shay Hughes as they have fostered a team who not only delivers excellence in everything they do but also treat one another like family on a daily basis. Jason and Shay provide guidance and endless support and have instilled a family-like atmosphere that reflect our ten Core Values, which are the heart of our business and reflect everything that we embody as a company and as individuals. These values are the driving force behind our company culture and every business decision that we make, including who we hire. Our team members live and breathe our Core Values inside and out of the office every day. We pin them to our bulletin boards, wear them on our t-shirts, display them on a mural outside our headquarters, and share them proudly with the communities we serve!

With our offices being spread across the West Coast, the importance of team building is critical to keep our teammates connected and sustain the family spirit across the miles. From our team members based in our headquarters in sunny San Diego, to our team in energetic Los Angeles and all the way up to the Pacific Northwest in Seattle, we all support one another and consider each other an extension of our own family. With our monthly shuffleboard and billiards tournaments, vintage arcade games, s’more parties, go-kart racing and annual talent contests, there is plenty to do to keep the good times rolling and we love to enjoy the journey together whenever possible!

Adding to our family-oriented, home-like atmosphere, each one of our beautiful, amenity-rich offices was designed to make team members and clients feel like they are in a home away from home. Designed by Shay, our award-winning offices offer plenty of living space, including living rooms with overstuffed couches, flat screen TVs displaying team members’ family photos, billiards, shuffleboard and ping-pong tables, vintage Pac-Man machines, a putting green, gourmet kitchens with family-style farm tables, on-site gyms with shower facilities, and vibrant art pieces from world renowned artists.
