Description

On just over 8 acres of land, Hughes Marino’s project management team worked with BioLegend to design a new seven-story, 700-stall parking garage tucked behind the New Main Building that extends south along the west end of the site. At the southern end of the new main building stands a landmark−a 70-foot tall atrium with a pedestrian bridge that connects the atrium to the refurbished Administrative and Amenity Building. Within the Amenity Building is the kitchen and gym. Creative landscaping surrounds the structures to offer all team members a place to relax or informally meet outside. Bridges lead the way to the massive center circle that doubles as a lunch area during the day and event space in the evening. During inclement weather, associates can take shelter through the large bi-folding doors to the 500-person multi-purpose room situated under the green roof.

Added Value

BioLegend and Hughes Marino have worked together for over 8 years and in 2015, Hughes Marino represented BioLegend in the purchase of the four-building campus at Terman Court. During the purchase due diligence period, Hughes Marino created the entire Master Plan, which included privatizing the cul-de-sac capturing an additional half-acre of land. Phase 1 was completed in October of 2016, and the Campus broke ground in July 2017.

Service Provided

Hughes Marino provided complete project management services from site selection, due diligence, design and permitting to selection of the general contractor, project pricing and construction activity management. Hughes Marino has also managed all telecommunications and underground utility coordination efforts, including discussions with SDG&E.
