Our January 2017 HM Mini Goal

By John Jarvis

Intrepid Hughes Marino Mini Goalers!

Happy New Year and welcome to our 2017 Mini Goal program!

This year we have opened up our Mini Goals program to the extended Hughes Marino family of clients and friends. We are thrilled to have everyone playing along! 2016 is in the books, and 2017 has arrived full of opportunity, a blank canvas waiting for the artist with a grand vision! (That would be you!)

We wrapped up 2016 with a fantastic mini goal, going somewhere we had never been, which proved to be a lot of fun for our team. I urban-hiked the seven bridges of San Diego (who knew?), Madi ice skated at the Hotel Del Coronado, Briana visited snowy Canalside in Buffalo, NY, and the Hughes family took the trip of a lifetime to Australia! Even my dog Jackson participated – he visited the snow for the first time with my family at Lake Arrowhead!

How fitting, then, to start 2017 going back to a place we all remember, that’s right, the kitchen table. Our January mini-goal is to:

Play a board game with family or friends!

I don’t know about you, but I think this particular mini goal is fraught with peril! Who can handle getting sent back to square one in Parcheesi? Or bumped to the starting space in Sorry? Or landing on the long slide in Chutes and Ladders? Many a tear has been shed playing these games in our house!

So choose your game carefully, gather and play! We’d love to see a photo of your gathering. (Bonus points for wearing HM gear. Need some? Just email minigoals@hughesmarino.com.) Thanks for playing – this is how we grow!

Say it, do it, repeat. Good fun. (Hopefully with laughter instead of tears.)

P.S. If you need a reminder about why we do this, check out this short video about the program!
