Esteemed Hughes Marino Mini Goalers,
I trust you all got out and “laissez les bons temps rouler” with a fun April bike ride! I seized the opportunity for a Pacific Beach, San Diego triathlon, you know, breakfast at Kono’s Cafe, a ride on a beach cruiser along the boardwalk and a long walk back to the car – eating, biking and walking! So much for healthy exercise. If you follow Hughes Marino on social media you might have seen my selfies!
We received a lot of other great photo submissions this month too! Adam and Jess explored sunny Santa Monica on their beach cruisers. The Muna fam took a family bike ride. Our friends Laura and Erwin biked 18 miles around Mission Bay, Jess took a spin on her lunch break in Orange County, and our pals at Playworks SoCal went on a group bike ride to enjoy the sun!
And with the French election just a few days away, I will stay in the French theme when I say M’Aidez, M’Aidez!
No, I don’t need help – what I mean is May Day, May Day! Welcome to the first of May!
It is time to grab a shovel, get down to earth and get dirty, ‘cause in May we are going to:
Plant a tree or flowers!
Planting a tree, a flowering plant, a bush, or a shrub can be great fun and wildly rewarding to watch it grow and bloom and cycle through the seasons. Pick a good sunny spot, turn the soil, and don’t forget to water! You know, that is actually a pretty great metaphor…but I digress.
It doesn’t matter what it means, just do it. You know, ‘cause we said we would, and how cool would it be to be known as someone who does what they said they would do?
